Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

Happy Turkey day!
My 6 year old daughter asked me why we celebrate Thanksgiving and as I started to explain the history, her eyes glazed over. So I had her watch this wonderful explanation I found on you tube.
Her eyes still glazed over so I had to find something that would hold her interest. Knowing that power lay in cartoons. I had her watch this old TV special. The Thanksgiving that almost wasn't that first aired on November 26, 1972.
I do not remember this cartoon at all but then again Thanksgiving is not a Venezuelan holiday so we didn't really celebrate it growing up. Not a big fan of turkey anyhow but I love celebrating gratitude and all of God's blessings.

I wish y'all the Happiest of Thanksgiving! Be Blessed my friends!!!!

The day was filled with wagon rides, rolling hills, kettle corn, pumpkin donuts and pumpkins. Lots and lots of pumpkins.
A delicious feast for the eyes and senses that sung Fall is here!
