How to make peppermint candy decorations

I am crazy for anything that has a peppermint pattern so I decided to make some outdoor decorations after not being able to find any to buy.
The shapes are made from styrofoam pieces I had lying around the house. To avoid a huge mess, I cut the shapes outside .
Then brought them inside to paint the striped pattern.
Wrapped them in cello or clear plastic wrap and tied the ends with a bright red ribbon.

To make a lollipop, I twisted a piece of plastic pipe inside the centre of the styrofoam then hot glued it in place. Wrapped the cello around the top and gathered it just below the hot glued area. Finished off with a great big bow and the sweetest smile : )
