Farewell Blue Beach days

Saying goodbye to Summer is not an easy thing to do...especially after spending it at the beach.
Picture perfect waves.
Watching the girls play and enjoying nature.
Not worrying about anything but putting on sunscreen.
The Blue Flag program is designed to inform people of clean and safe beaches anywhere in the world. The closest one is about 3 hours away and we did make the trip last year to Port Stanley. It was not worth the 3 hours one way with three children under 6 kinda beautiful. Blue Flag Org
My friend introduced me to this beach which is around the corner from Greenacre and it is now the family beach!

"A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken."  ~James Dent
My late Summer bloomers put on quite a show!
Sunny and hot almost everyday which was great for everyone except the plants.
Sunny, dry and hot made for some really large cracks in the ground. Something I have never seen before in my life.
Making my love of succulents even bigger!
My front garden looked awful because I didn't water much and it needed to be trimmed. I got a little trimming happy last year and was wondering about the proper rules of trimming and came across this great website in case y'all wondering too.
"Once you find blooms that are beginning to wilt and turn brown, or even seed heads that may have already formed, you should remove them back to the first set of leaves. For instance, if there are other healthy blooms or buds near the dying ones, cut them off to the point where it meets the other stems."
Strange doing my Fall garden chores during the Summer but everything is a month ahead of schedule. Fall seemed to have happened overnight.
Don't mind the soybeans being early because they remind me of the beauty to come as Fall takes over.

"The foliage has been losing its freshness through the month of August, and here and there a yellow leaf shows itself like the first gray hair amidst the locks of a beauty who has seen one season too many."
~Oliver Wendell Holmes
Knowing what is coming helps saying goodbye to our beloved Summer easier.
